RAIN, Rain Go Away!

what Happens when it Rains?

Pop Up Picnic Co is dedicated to giving you the absolute best experience possible; unfortunately, rain + wind are the 2 biggest obstacles when it comes to delivering awesome service.

Please note: We can’t name all possible acts of God here so please understand that this disclaimer pertains to any unforeseen weather, geological or man-made event or circumstance that would make it uncomfortable, unsafe, difficult, or impossible to host a picnic.

We take a few things into account when bad weather is forecasted: probability, safety concerns and viable alternatives.

PROBABILITY: If there is more than a 30% chance of rain (or any other bad weather) on a reservation day, we may consider cancelling. The higher the probability, the more likely we will cancel and the further in advance we will cancel. We also take into account the amount of rain and when the rain is forecasted. Even if it isn’t raining during the picnic but site conditions are dangerous, we may have to cancel. We use Accuweather.com as our weather service.

SAFETY: Safety is our main priority; if a site poses an accessibility hazard (obstacles, tripping, slipping, etc.) we may have to cancel. We also have to take wind into account. The top of the hill gets strong wind gusts that can send objects flying. If that’s a concern, we may have to cancel.

ALTERNATIVES: We may offer an alternative day, time or location to make up for a cancelled reservation. We will try to replace your reservation with an option that best matches the original. Typically, the best option is to reschedule for another day when the weather is better. We do not provide refunds for any reason. If you are traveling from out of town and can’t reschedule, you will be issued a credit that never expires. You also have the option to gift a ticket to another person.

This is not an exact science. We do the best we can with the circumstance to make as many guests happy as possible and deliver our service as closely as we can to the standard we’ve promised.
